City of West Torrens

Comparative performance measurement

Each year Council's performance is monitored across 4 key areas to ensure that it meets its obligations to the community. These areas are:

  • governance
  • community satisfaction
  • financial and asset management
  • quality of life.

The results can be viewed on the Local Government Association's web site by clicking on the link:

West Torrens performance measures

The monitoring process involves gathering information from the community, Government agencies and other sources.

This information allows Council to assess trends in its own performance and to compare itself with the average results for similar Councils in the region and around South Australia.

While comparisons with other Councils are useful, direct comparisons must be treated cautiously and are not generally recommended. There are many factors which contribute to and affect a Council's individual performance, and a one-to-one comparison will therefore often produce misleading results.

For further explanation of the data provided, please contact the City of West Torrens directly by email or telephone 8416 6333.

Comparative performance measurement is part of Council's commitment to:

  • providing the most cost effective services possible to the community
  • constructing and properly maintaining vital infrastructure for the benefit of existing and future generations.
