City of West Torrens

Helping people enjoy life

The City of West Torrens provides a number of services to enhance the quality of life of local residents.

Aged care

St Martins at Marleston provides nursing and support to senior citizens who can no longer live independently. This facility offers the chance for senior citizens to continue living in the local area close to family and friends.

Assistance is also provided to help senior citizens still living in their own homes. With funding from the Australian Government, the City of West Torrens provides help with household chores such as cooking, cleaning, gardening and laundry. To find out more about these services, visit the Home and Community Care page.

Community bus

A community bus service assists local residents who are unable to use regular public transport. The community bus provides transport to shopping centres, library and community centres.

Libraries and community centres

The City of West Torrens Library Service offers education and entertainment to everyone in the community. The library is very popular with local residents and is also open to people who live outside the area. The service allows people to borrow books, DVDs, videos, CDs and many other items for free. A range of fun activities are also hosted including storytelling for young children and book discussion groups for adults. Visit the Library web site to find out more.

The main collection is housed at the Hamra Centre Library at Hilton while the Mobile Library visits all suburbs in the local area.
